Job Purpose :
The Assistant Manager - Industrial Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing motorcycle designs from initial ideas to production-ready solutions. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Clay Modelers, Engineers, and Digital Sculptors, to create motorcycles that embody Royal Enfield’s legacy while pushing the boundaries of design.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct research, sketch, and visualize innovative motorcycle concepts aligned with Royal Enfield’s design philosophy.
- Develop motorcycle designs from initial sketches to digital 3D models, ensuring a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Work closely with clay modelers to refine design proportions and surfaces through physical prototypes.
- Create high-quality 3D models using Blender, Rhino, or Alias to communicate design intent effectively.
- Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to translate design concepts into feasible production models.
- Stay updated with motorcycle design trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design innovation.
- Prepare and present design proposals through high-quality renders, sketches, and presentations.
Work Experience
Education :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
Experience :
2 - 3 years of experience in motorcycle design, preferably in a two-wheeler or automotive company.Strong sketching and visualization skills to quickly communicate design ideas.Proficiency in Blender for 3D modeling and rendering.Knowledge of Alias, Rhino, or Gravity Sketch is a plus.Experience working with clay modeling teams for refining surface designs.Understanding of motorcycle ergonomics, materials, and manufacturing processes.Ability to work in a fast-paced design environment and handle multiple projects.Excellent communication and presentation skills.
