About the role

The Analyst, Assurance at Cbus plays a pivotal role within the Group Risk team by embedding and maintaining the organisation’s controls framework and second line assurance program. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk and Assurance, you will help develop and refine the Controls Framework to ensure it effectively mitigates risk across the business and provide oversight on the design and implementation of key controls.

You will play a key role in safeguarding our operations and reputation through building relationships with control owners, empowering them to critically assess their controls and ensuring remediation plans are in place for any gaps.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the development and maintenance of Cbus’ Controls Framework to ensure effective risk mitigation across the organisation
• Provide oversight and challenge on the design and implementation of key controls
• Execute second line assurance activities including testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls
• Assist in identifying control gaps and ensuring remediation plans are in place and tracked
• Conduct risk-based reviews of issue closure in our Enterprise Risk Register (Archer) to confirm appropriate resolutions and risk mitigation

What will you bring?

• Experience in a similar risk management, audit or assurance role in superannuation or financial services
• Tertiary qualification in law, commerce, accounting or related field
• Experience working in second line risk functions and a sound understanding of Australia’s superannuation and regulatory landscape (e.g. APRA)
• Strong initiative, attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage and influence control owners and stakeholders
