Trade Operations Specialist
Overview : Performs operational support for trade‑finance products, primarily commercial and standby letters of credit (LCs) and documentary collections, in accordance with Uniform Customs and Practice (UCP 600), International Standby Practices (ISP 98) and Anti‑Money‑Laundering (AML) rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue, advise and amend import / export LCs; process standby LCs and guarantees.
- Examine shipping documents (invoices, bills of lading, insurance certificates) to ensure compliance with LC terms.
- Generate and process SWIFT message types (e.g., MT 700, MT 707, MT 734) for trade payments and amendments.
- Register transactions in the bank's trade‑finance system and monitor settlement through FED / CHIPS.
- Perform sanctions screening and transaction‑level due‑diligence; liaise with compliance on OFAC / AML alerts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance or international business; 2–4 years in US trade‑finance operations.Solid understanding of UCP 600 / ISP 98 rules, SWIFT message formats and trade‑documentation requirements.Experience with trade‑finance platforms and payment systems; strong document‑review and compliance skills.Skills Required
