Role Title : Quality Engineer – Web & Functional Testing

Position Summary :

Marriott International is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Engineer to join our Hotel Websites (HWS) team within IT Application Development. This role is ideal for a QA professional with a strong background in web application testing, functional validation, cross-browser compatibility, and cross-locale / language testing. You will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of Marriott’s global hotel websites, delivering seamless digital experiences to guests across regions and languages.

Job Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web-based applications and services.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing across desktop and mobile platforms.
• Validate UI / UX consistency, responsiveness, and accessibility across multiple browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
• Conduct cross-locale and multilingual testing to ensure content accuracy, layout integrity, and functionality across different languages and regions.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to identify defects early and ensure smooth releases.
• Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
• Build and maintain automated test suites using tools such as Selenium, or Playwright.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Monitor application performance and conduct load, stress, and security testing as needed.
• Document and report defects with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments.
• Track and communicate quality metrics, test coverage, and release readiness to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Marriott’s QA standards, accessibility guidelines, and security protocols.
• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and coordinate with business stakeholders for sign-off.
• Maintain test environments and manage test data for various scenarios.
• Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and documentation to enhance team efficiency.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
