In your role, you will drive the design strategy for women’s wear, creating compelling collections that align with the business vision. You’ll lead the creative process, oversee the development of seasonal prints and graphics, and collaborate closely with various teams to ensure successful product launches. Your innovative approach and attention to detail will be crucial in articulating design concepts and fit specifications.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Alignment : Align design initiatives with the business vision for womenswear, ensuring they support overall company goals.
- Design Development : Create unique design stories for new menswear collections and lead the development of seasonal prints and graphics.
- Sketching and Line Management : Drive the sketching of linesheets for seasonal collections in Running, Training, Yoga, and Athleisure, conveying the collection's narrative.
- Innovative Problem Solving : Introduce innovative design solutions and consumer-driven ideas to enhance product development.
- Cost Optimization : Maintain cost efficiency by optimizing the use of raw materials, keeping color and material minimums in mind.
- Presentation and Articulation : Present visually appealing collection swatches, trims, and mock-ups during line reviews, articulating technical specifications for sourcing teams.
- Fit Development : Conduct fit articulation using market samples, ensuring proper execution with appropriate materials and weights.
- Collaboration and Representation : Act as the design spokesperson in meetings, collaborating closely with fit techs, sourcing teams, and merchandisers to ensure alignment and success in product development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in design, Fashion, and / or a relevant field of study, preferably Knitwear design. Passionate about sport and sportswear design.Expertise in Women’s categories and lead creative direction for print and graphicsMinimum of 7-8 years of relevant experience in the fashion, active wear, sportswear, or teamsport space, specializing in Apparel.Experience directly leading a small design team is a strong advantage.Proficiency and refinement in all stages of presentation, from concept to final design review.Broad knowledge of apparel manufacturing and prototype making.Strong knowledge of fabrics, with knowledge of graphics being ideal.Strong MAC, CAD, and analytical skills, with 3D knowledge being an advantage.
