About the Role
We are looking for a Principal QA Engineer (Cypress) to lead testing strategy, automation, and quality initiatives across our agile development teams. This role is a key part of ensuring our products are reliable, scalable, and deliver great experiences for our users.
You’ll take ownership of both the hands-on execution and the strategic direction of quality engineering, helping shape how we test, what we automate, and how we continuously improve. What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of end-to-end test strategies for web-based applications
- Define and drive adoption of scalable test automation frameworks using Cypress (JavaScript / TypeScript preferred)
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical goals
- Mentor and support QA and software engineers in improving test coverage, automation, and quality ownership
- Author and maintain functional and regression test cases and plans for complex user stories
- Review and guide the work of other engineers, ensuring consistency and high standards across teams
- Lead performance and load testing initiatives and analyze results to identify bottlenecks and reliability issues
- Contribute to sprint planning, provide QA estimates, and ensure testing aligns with sprint goals
- Communicate risks, progress, and test outcomes clearly to stakeholders and leadership
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications :
10+ years of experience in software QA, including both manual and automated testingStrong hands-on experience with Cypress for UI automation testingProficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for writing automated testsDeep understanding of testing methodologies (unit, functional, acceptance, regression, performance, load)Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation frameworks at scaleFamiliarity with Gherkin syntax and behavior-driven development (BDD) practicesExperience with performance and load testing, including scripting and analysisComfortable working in agile environments and participating in all stages of the development lifecycleStrong communication and collaboration skillsNice to Have :
Experience with CI / CD tools and integrating automated tests into deployment pipelinesExperience testing microservices or distributed systemsBackground mentoring or leading QA engineers in a cross-functional settingExposure to testing APIs or backend systems alongside UI testingWhat You’ll Get
