Job Description

• CMDB Administrator : Responsible for managing and maintaining the CMDB.
• Ensures data quality and integrity within the CMDB.
• Manages CI (Configuration Item) classes and updates CI records.
• Creates and maintains CI queries, CMDB groups, and Dynamic CI groups using CMDB Query Builder.
• Ensures the CMDB is updated upon successful change implementation.
• Collects and retains risk assessment and impact analysis information
• CI Analyst or Class Owner :
• Responsible for updating and managing CI classes.
• Assures automated data sources are populating discoverable attributes.
• Helps resolve Discovery errors in computing, networks, applications, databases, and cloud resources.
• May also be considered a Service or Product Owner
• ServiceNow Role Requirements : The [itil] role is required in ServiceNow and includes the [cmdb_query_builder] role.
• Additional roles such as [asset] may be required to view the CMDB Data Foundations and the CMDB Health dashboard
• CMDB Process Lead : Administers the CMDB process within the organization.
• Works closely with other process leads to ensure that asset-specific information can be gathered and disseminated using efficient and consistently followed processes.Ensures data yielded from this process is of high quality and provides management with the right level of business intelligence and reporting
