Mechanical Design Engineer

BTL India is looking for a passionate Mechanical Engineer (2-4 years) for the Design & Development of medical devices in its Bangalore R&D Center. The engineer will be working on New Product Design & Development & will be responsible to plan, design & execute all mechanical design requirements as assigned by the Project Lead right from concept to detailed design, engineering verification & followed by transfer of design to production.

ROLES & RESONSIBILITIES

As part of the R&D team, the employee should be able to perform following duties to support the team’s goals but not limited to the following :

Actively participate in following product development activities – Concept design, design planning, design development & execution stages of new products.

Analyze, interpret and establish design requirements based on marketing inputs & available technical data.

Collaborate with cross functional teams including Industrial design, Electrical, Marketing and purchasing teams.

Research design options and perform experiments to determine potential design feasibility.

Prepare clear, concise and accurate conceptual / design models & drawings, defining tolerances, fits, clearances & space requirements

Conduct & actively participate in Design reviews.

Interact with global design and manufacturing teams to design for manufacturability, reliability and cost-effectiveness.

Create DFMEA, Simulations, Tolerance analysis, design calculations to ensure First time right designs

Prototyping of designs.

Design Verification-Part & mechanical system level verification.

Production documentation support.

Pre-production, Pilot and Production support.

Ensure all mechanical engineering activities are executed as per the development procedure.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or Product design (Mechanical) with 2 to 4 years working experience in a Product Design and Development environment.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY :

Experience in design of Electro-Mechanical products (Ex : Medical devices, Consumer appliances)

Able to work independently & experience with working in cross functional teams.

Experience in working in designs for various manufacturing technologies including plastic injection molding, silicones, precision machining & sheet metal.

Experience in selection of materials & various finishing processes.

Design calculation and optimization for component & system level, strong foundation and working knowledge in GD & T & stack up analysis.

Exposure to working with HW teams for ECD-MCAD convergence & design for electrical safety.

Exposure to solving thermal management within the device.

Experience with rapid prototype and different prototyping techniques for building proof of concept and Functional prototype for testing.

Good analytical skills in problem solving, identifying the technical risks and mitigating them systematically.

Hands on Experience with CAD software’s like Solid works with exposure to surface modelling, skeleton model / Master model concept.
