Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Thermal Design Engineer to lead the design and optimization of industrial drying systems and thermal process equipment . The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in heat balance calculations, drying kinetics, and CFD analysis for process equipment handling alternate fuels, biomass, and industrial wastes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform heat and mass balance calculations for drying systems, including pre-heater, cooler, and hot gas generator integrations.
- Develop and validate drying kinetics models for various waste and AFR materials (e.G., RDF, biomass, sludge, etc.).
- Design and size thermal components—heat exchangers, rotary and belt dryers, and air / gas flow systems.
- Conduct CFD simulations to analyze temperature distribution, flow patterns, and heat transfer efficiency.
- Optimize energy consumption and ensure compliance with emission and safety standards.
- Work closely with mechanical, process, and automation teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable systems.
- Support R&D efforts in prototype testing, performance evaluation, and scale-up design.
- Prepare technical documentation including design reports, datasheets, and performance specifications.
Desired Skills and Competencies
Proven experience in Thermal Process Design , preferably in dryers, heaters, or combustion systems.Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer .Hands-on experience with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, or equivalent).Familiarity with energy efficiency, waste heat recovery , and process integration concepts.Exposure to drying kinetics of waste and AFR materials will be an added advantage.Excellent analytical, documentation, and team-collaboration skills.Education
B.E. / B.Tech. or M.E. / M.Tech. in Thermal Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Chemical / Mechanical Engineering .Experience Required : 5+ years
