Job Description
To provide sound knowledge in Systems Design Integration, being responsible for and having knowledge in : problem resolution, defining requirements; designing and integrating products, physical & functional systems & product systems; performing technical analysis; verifying products, physical & functional systems and components throughout the product lifecycle.
Key accountabilities :
Tasks around design and development for new or existing diesel generator system products.
Engineering quality assurance of manufacturing drawings, P&I diagrams, schematics, data sheets and similar drawings for compliance with design specifications.
Prepare manufacturing drawings of generator system parts from different commodities like sheet metal, piping, small castings adhering to company standards and global standards.
Prepare engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with requirements, of local and global industry standards.
Select effective design concepts and fundamental technology for new products or improvement of existing products.
Understanding the customer requirements and implementing the solution or preparing the proposals.
Completion of assignments as per RRPS quality standards, engineering principles and practices.
General :
Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
Contributes in special projects as required.
Create and deliver effective presentations to executive management as well as site teams.
Ability to work with cross functional teams.
Strong ability to take initiative and work independently.
Strong problem analysis and problem solving attitude.
Flexible to travel for work occasionally to different sites of supplier, manufacturing facility.
Qualification :
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Application Engineering, Combustion Engineering or Automotive Engineering and minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in design and development of power gen system.
Understanding of design and generator system subsystems functions.
Excellent applied knowledge about reciprocating internal combustion engines used in genset applications including exhaust treatment technologies
Excellent ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Strong ability to read and interpret P&I diagrams and manufacturing drawings.
Fundamental knowledge of diesel generator electrical interfaces.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings such as single line diagrams and point to point drawings
Experience in mechanical systems control systems
Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and explain those conclusions to management in form of presentations
Strong CAD and PLM, ERP tools : Creo, windchill, drafting tools, SAP.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Commissioning, testing or site inspection experience is an added advantage.
