Key Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership & Design Management
- Lead and manage the EHV substation design team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs
- Review and approve design documents including single-line diagrams, layout drawings, protection schemes, and specifications
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, IS) and client specifications
Project Coordination & Execution Support
Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to align design with project requirementsSupport site engineering activities, including resolving technical queries and design clarificationsParticipate in design review meetings, FAT / SAT tests, and commissioning supportStandards & Quality Assurance
Develop and enforce design standards, procedures, and best practices within the engineering teamConduct design audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completenessMentor and train junior engineers on EHV substation design principles and software toolsClient & Vendor Interaction
Liaise with clients, consultants, and equipment suppliers for design approvals and technical clarificationsSupport tendering activities with technical input, BOQ preparation, and cost estimationEvaluate and recommend technical solutions for complex design challengesReporting & Documentation
Prepare technical reports, design justifications, and project documentationMaintain design records and ensure version control for all engineering deliverablesQualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power SystemsProfessional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer) are an advantageExperience :
Minimum 10 years of experience in design and engineering of EHV substations (132 kV and above)Proven experience managing design teams and handling multi-disciplinary coordinationFamiliarity with protection & control schemes, SCADA integration, and civil / structural coordinationKey Skills :
Strong expertise in EHV substation design tools (AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSilent, etc.)In-depth knowledge of substation components : transformers, switchgear, busbars, protection relaysExcellent leadership, communication, and project management skillsAbility to interpret complex technical specifications and standardsProblem-solving mindset and attention to detailSkills Required
