In this vital role, you will be working closely with Amgen Research partners and Technology peers to ensure that the technology and data needs for drug discovery research are translated into technical requirements for solution implementation. You will be a key member of a multi-functional team that implements scientific software platforms for small molecule design, synthesis, testing, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have scientific domain expertise, a passion for solving complex challenges, and a strong background in Agile methodologies.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Requirements & Analysis : Function as a Scientific Business Systems Analyst within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) product team. You will serve as a liaison between global Research Informatics and research scientists, translating complex scientific needs into clear, actionable requirements, user stories, and supporting artifacts.
- Platform & Technology Management : You will run a suite of custom internal platforms, Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software, and system integrations. You will support the technology ecosystem for small molecule discovery and ensure the platform meets requirements for data analysis and data integrity.
- Product Roadmap & Risk Management : Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines planned features, timelines, and milestones. You will also be responsible for identifying and managing technological and scientific validation risks associated with the systems.
- Collaboration & Innovation : Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will ensure scientific data operations are scoped into building Research-wide Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI / ML) capabilities.
Technical Skills
Demonstrated expertise in a scientific domain area and related technology needs.Experience writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems like JIRA .Experience with chemistry-focused software platforms ( Revvity Signals Notebook, ACD / Labs, ChemAxon, Schrödinger LiveDesign / PyMOL / Maestro, BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot ), compound registration systems, and AI tools for drug design.Hands-on experience building BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot protocols is a plus.Experience with Agile software development methodologies ( Scrum ).Knowledge of business analysis best practices, DevOps , Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery methodology.Experience with cloud ( e.g., AWS ) and on-premise infrastructure.Qualifications
A Master's degree with relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree with extensive experience, or a Diploma with a substantial background in Computer Science, IT, Computational Chemistry / Cheminformatics, or a related field.SAFe for Teams certification is preferred.Experience in implementing and supporting chemistry-focused software platforms in a biopharma setting is preferred.Soft Skills
