Oracle DB Migration Lead (Manager) Job Description

Role Overview :

Oracle Database Specialist is responsible database migration across Data Center and cloud platforms (AWS to AWS, Azure to Azure, and DC-to-DC). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments, including backup / recovery, replication, and monitoring with strong leadership and project management skills to ensure successful migrations, minimal downtime, and seamless delivery across all phases of the program.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the end-to-end migration lifecycle across assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.
• Define and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices (zero / near-zero downtime, HA / DR).
• Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across :

a. Data Center-to-Data Center

b. AWS-to-AWS cloud setups

c. Azure-to-Azure cloud setups

a. Rubrik for backup orchestration and recovery

b. RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup / restore operations, incremental (delta) syncs, and PITR (Point-in-Time Recovery)

a. Database performance monitoring

b. Health checks and proactive alerting

c. Migration tracking and validation

Must-Have Skills :

a. Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning

b. Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management

c. Oracle Data Guard setup, switchover, failover, and role transitions

d. Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration

e. RMAN for backup / recovery, delta sync, cloning, and duplication

f. OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and migration validation
