We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Category Manager to lead the electronics category for a major retail organization in Delhi. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the consumer electronics market, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to drive sales, profitability, and market share through effective category management and vendor partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute the overall strategy for the electronics category, including product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising.
Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
Define annual category goals, sales targets, and margin objectives in alignment with business objectives.
Supplier & Vendor Management
Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
Build strong partnerships with key vendors to secure exclusive products, promotional support, and marketing collaborations.
Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis
Track category performance through sales, margins, inventory levels, and other KPIs.
Prepare reports and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
Optimize product assortment based on sales data, profitability, and market trends.
Collaboration & Execution
Work closely with marketing, operations, and store teams to implement promotional campaigns and product launches.
Ensure effective in-store merchandising and digital representation of the electronics category.
Collaborate with supply chain teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize stock-outs or overstock situations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
6+ years of experience in electronics category management, retail buying, or merchandising.
Strong knowledge of consumer electronics trends, brands, and market dynamics.
Proven track record in driving category growth, margin improvement, and vendor negotiations.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and retail analytics tools.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
