Oncology Data Specialist

Essential Job Functions :

• Complete reading, writing, and assigned assessments (quizzes, final examinations, mock exams, computer assignment or any other assignments provided) to move forward within the outlined established timeline.
• Keep a daily log to document all activities completed each day.
• Perform duties in compliance with Company's policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to HIPAA and compliance.
• Utilize all available official references to complete assignmentsto include but not limited to Standards for Oncology Registry Entry (STORE), International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, 3rd Edition, American Joint Commission on Cancer Staging Manual (current edition), Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Staging Manual (current volume), North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR), etc.
• Abides by the Code of Ethics standards set by the National Cancer Registrars Association.

Roles and responsibilities during examination :

Complete and pass all required AHIMA pre-requisite courses. Each course has multiple modules which has quizzes and exercises that can be attempted multiple times and a final exam, but this is only allowed to be taken twice with a passing score of 70% or higher

Introduction  to Healthcare Technology and Information Systems (previously named Computer Basics in Healthcare)
