Job Summary :
A Coolgen Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications using IBM's Coolgen (also known as IEF - Integrated Engineering Facility) for automated code generation and enterprise application development. The developer works on creating efficient business applications, primarily for mainframe or distributed environments, by leveraging Coolgen's model-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, customize, and maintain enterprise applications using Coolgen
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical design using Coolgen tools
- Generate and optimize COBOL, DB2, or other code through Coolgen models
- Work on debugging, testing, and performance tuning of Coolgen-generated applications
- Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and other developers for application delivery
- Participate in upgrades and migration activities related to Coolgen environments
- Document design, code changes, and technical processes
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fieldExperience working with Coolgen (IBM IEF) for application developmentKnowledge of COBOL, DB2, or relational databases is a plusUnderstanding of mainframe and distributed systemsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsGood communication and teamwork abilitiesPreferred Qualifications :
