Role : Backup & Storage Engineer
Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled Backup & Storage Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our reputed MNC client based in Pune. The ideal candidate must possess strong, hands-on expertise in software-defined Backup and Storage management, focusing on the configuration, administration, and optimization of virtualized environments and enterprise software solutions. This role requires deep expertise in managing Veeam and maintaining distributed storage environments like NetApp's software implementations, ensuring data integrity, availability, and optimal performance across multi-platform environments.
Primary Responsibility & Core Functions :
Backup Solutions Management (Veeam Expertise) :
- Possess extensive working experience with Veeam, specifically Veeam Backup & Replication (Veeam B&R) and Veeam One for virtual and cloud workloads.
- Expertise is required not just at the configuration and administration level, but also with advanced monitoring experience (e.g., performance tuning, capacity planning, and automated reporting) within the Veeam suite.
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced data protection, replication, and disaster recovery strategies using software-defined policies to meet RTOs and RPOs.
Storage Systems Management (NetApp Software Focus) :
Demonstrate strong experience with NetApp software-defined storage solutions.Must understand the concepts and have practical experience with File Sharing configuration and monitoring at the software layer, managing storage resource pools and virtualization layers.Possess a background or working knowledge of EMC software-defined storage concepts.Manage and optimize storage performance, capacity utilization, and software-defined tiering across the enterprise storage fabric.System Interoperability and Cross-Platform Support :
Should have working experience with Windows / VMware environments for both backup and storage configuration, ensuring seamless integration between the OS, hypervisor, and data services.Experience working with Linux environments is good to have for managing data sources and storage integration on that platform.Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents related to data corruption, backup failures, replication issues, and storage performance bottlenecks within the software stack.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Experience : 5+ years of professional experience as a Backup and Storage Engineer.Core Backup : Extensive working experience with Veeam, specifically Veeam B&R and Veeam One (administration and monitoring).Core Storage : Strong experience with NetApp software concepts, including practical experience with File Sharing configuration and monitoring in a distributed environment.Platforms : Working experience with Windows / VMware virtualized environments.Breadth : Strong experience with the software and management levels of enterprise backup and storage platforms, including networking protocols (e.g., iSCSI configuration) and data services.Preferred Skills :
Working experience with the Linux operating system.Background knowledge or experience with EMC software-defined storage solutions.Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Veeam Certified Engineer, NetApp Certified Data Administrator).Location & Experience :
