You’ll join a small, agile team where your decisions directly affect our brand presence and sales.
Role Overview
As E-commerce Merchandiser at Linen Trail, you will be responsible for ensuring our online catalog and storefront deliver a compelling, seamless shopping experience. You will handle product listings, page optimization, collection / category structuring, and collaborate across design, marketing, and operations to drive conversion and discoverability.
You are a blend of a storyteller, data-analyst, and executioner — making sure the right products are shown in the right way, at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
Product Listings & Catalog Management
- Create, upload, and maintain product listings (title, descriptions, attributes, size / color variants, images)
- Ensure consistency of information, correct taxonomy, metadata and categorization
- Monitor for missing content or errors and fix them proactively
- Use best practices in SEO (product titles, meta descriptions, alt text) to improve organic search visibility
Collection & Category Page Optimization
Structure and maintain collection / category pages with logic, filtering, sortingCurate “featured”, “new arrivals”, “best sellers”, “shop by fabric / season / occasion” collectionsWork on banners, hero placements, on-site merchandising blocksA / B test positioning of products, banner creatives, sorting logicMerchandising & Visual Strategy
Collaborate with design / creative to align product visuals with brand aestheticsPropose which products to push / highlight during promotions or season launchesWork with marketing to coordinate campaigns / launches (ensure front-end readiness)Plan and execute merchandising calendar (site refreshes, seasonal changes)Data & Insights
Monitor key metrics : conversion, click-through on category pages, bounce, add-to-cart, etc.Identify underperforming listings and propose improvementsUse sales and traffic data to recommend product mix, site exposure changesGenerate regular reports and insights to the founder / leadershipCross-functional Collaboration & Support
Liaise with operations / inventory team to ensure availability, stock status reflected onlineWork with customer support to flag errors / feedback on product pagesAssist in QA / testing of site features (e.g. new filters, search, page layouts)Escalate and help coordinate fixes with developers / designers if product data or UI issues emergeContinuous Improvement & Stay Updated
Stay up to date with e-commerce / fashion / digital merchandising trendsSuggest improvements and innovations (e.g. personalization, smart recommendations)Document SOPs for listing, merchandising, optimizationsRequirements & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business, or relevant field0.5-2 years experience in e-commerce merchandising, catalog management, or similar (especially fashion / apparel / lifestyle brands)Solid understanding of e-commerce best practices (SEO, UI / UX, site navigation, filters, search)Experience managing product listing platforms / CMS / storefront systems (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce etc)Analytical mindset : comfortable with data, Excel (or Google Sheets), reporting toolsStrong attention to detail (typos, consistency, image quality)Good communication skills — you’ll coordinate across teamsProactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasksA sensibility for design / visual aesthetics (appreciation for cohesive brand look)Bonus / Preferred
