Vice President - AI / ML & Data Science

Job Summary :

AI Works' is a specialized unit , to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve complex business problems across the insurance value chain. We are looking for strategic and visionary AI leader who is enthusiastic for an exciting, fast-paced work environment and have a strong personal interest in learning, researching, and creating cutting edge AI solutions which makes high business impact.This leader will design and implement AI solutions that create value in Operations, Risk, Underwriting & Claims, and Customer Service, while also evangelizing and shaping the organization's Generative AI strategy across these areas. The role requires a balance of strategic foresight and execution discipline. This role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of transforming how we operate and embed intelligence in our digital journeys.

Key Competencies / Skills :

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline (CS, ML / AI, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics or equivalent).
• 15 or more years of experience in AI / ML with 7+ years in senior leadership roles building AI / ML programs; demonstrated experience in insurance / financial services strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of developing and deploying AI / ML solutions in BFSI sector.
• Deep expertise in AI / ML model development and deployment.
• Practical, demonstrable work experience in Generative AI / LLMs - model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, LLMOps and hallucination / bias controls.
• End-to-end delivery experience : data engineering, feature engineering, model development, containerised deployment (microservices), CI / CD, monitoring and model lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in python, ML frameworks and MLOPs practices.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Passion for continuous learning and thought leadership in AI.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and executive presence.
