Key Responsibilities
Server Administration :
- Administer Windows and Linux servers (2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019, CentOS, Ubuntu) installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning & troubleshooting.
- Manage Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, Group Policies (GPO), IIS / Apache Servers, Zimbra Mail.
- Ensure server uptime, backup & restoration, log analysis, patch management, and IT compliance.
- Administer backup and restoration processes using Veritas Backup and similar tools.
Virtualization & Datacenter :
Manage Hyper-V failover clusters and virtual environments with high availability.Monitor and optimize Dell PowerEdge servers, VMware / Hyper-V virtual machines, and associated storage.Perform capacity planning, upgrades, and preventive maintenance of datacenter infrastructure.Manage critical applications in production, including MSSQL Database Clusters and Application Servers.Storage & Security Management :
Handle enterprise-class SAN / NAS (Dell EMC, ISILON, IBM) storage provisioning and monitoring.Implement and manage server security antivirus, firewall logs, vulnerability assessments, and audits.Conduct periodic internal & external server audits for security and compliance.Cloud Administration :
Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS & Azure server provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and backups.Support hybrid cloud migrations and integration of on-premise with cloud environments.IT Operations & Client Coordination :
Ensure datacenter performance & SLA adherence for critical deployments (eChallan, VMS, CCTV, etc.)Work closely with vendors, OEMs, and third-party service providers for system upgrades and troubleshooting.Coordinate with government clients (Smart City / Police / Municipal projects) for IT infrastructure requirements.Prepare technical documentation and reports on system performance, incidents, and changes.Team Support :
Provide L2 / L3 level escalation support for server, storage, and network incidents.Mentor junior administrators and assign tasks based on expertise.Ensure IT process compliance with ITIL principles (Incident, Change & Problem Management).Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS / Apache.Expertise in virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware), clustering, HA / DR setups.Hands-on experience with Dell / IBM servers, EMC SAN, NAS ISILON.Proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) infra deployment, VM, backup, monitoring.Strong troubleshooting skills of production environments (Datacenter & Cloud).Security compliance, audits & disaster recovery planning.Good communication skills for client coordination & vendor management.(ref : hirist.tech)
