We’re seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead several critical engineering domains, including Supply Chain Integrations, Distribution Center Technology, and Integration Systems. This leader will guide multiple teams and their leads, set technical direction, and cultivate a culture of test-driven development, software craftsmanship, and operational excellence.
What will you be doing?
As the Manager of Software Engineering, you will :
- Provide leadership, direction, and career development for several Software Engineering Leads and their respective teams.
- Partner with senior product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to define the technology vision, roadmap, and priorities across supply chain and integration platforms.
- Ensure teams consistently apply Test-Driven Development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and modern automated testing frameworks.
- Drive adoption of observability best practices—including application monitoring, session replay, and centralized logging—to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure systems across multiple domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business needs.
- Establish and monitor engineering metrics that measure quality, delivery speed, and operational stability.
- Foster cross-team collaboration to ensure seamless integration between distribution, supply chain, and enterprise systems.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, software craftsmanship, and knowledge sharing across all teams.
- Manage staffing plans, hiring, and resource allocation to support evolving priorities.
What will you need to bring?
Required Skills & Experience :
9-15 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management or equivalent leadership roles.Proven track record overseeing multiple teams and delivering high-impact enterprise systems.Strong background in TDD, BDD, and automated test strategies.Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Playwright, Cucumber, or equivalents.Familiarity with observability and logging tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK stack).Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business boundaries.Java / JavaScript - open to any technologiesPreferred Skills & Experience :
Retail or supply chain technology experience.Knowledge of enterprise integration platforms, API gateways, messaging systems, or event-driven architectures.Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or distribution center automation technology.Experience managing teams in cloud-native development environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).GraphQLKafkaRetail - added advantage (any retail)
