Software Development Engineer II - Node.js

Role Overview :

We are looking for a high-caliber SDE 2 to join our engineering team in Gurgaon, focusing on building scalable, high-performance backend systems using Node.js. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting robust microservices, optimizing complex data flows, and ensuring our platform remains resilient under heavy traffic. You will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists to translate ambitious business requirements into clean, maintainable code. By driving technical excellence and mentoring junior developers, you will directly influence the speed and reliability of our product, ultimately shaping the experience for millions of our end users.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js to support high-concurrency environments and improve overall system throughput.

- Lead complex system design initiatives, ensuring that our architecture remains modular, secure, and capable of evolving with our rapid growth.

- Optimize database queries and API performance to reduce latency, directly improving the responsiveness of our customer-facing applications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical specifications, ensuring that product features are delivered with high code quality and minimal technical debt.

- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning within the team.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in building production-grade applications using Node.js, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.

- Strong proficiency in system design, including the ability to architect distributed systems, manage caching strategies, and design efficient database schemas.

- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across product and engineering teams.

- A degree from a Tier 1 engineering institute, reflecting a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment in Gurgaon, where autonomy and ownership are highly valued.

- 3 to 8 years of professional experience in backend development, showcasing a track record of delivering impactful software solutions.
