We need a senior engineer to design, build, integrate, and govern enterprise AI agents and shared automation services. Microsoft Copilot and other AI capabilities are already live across the organization, but business value depends on connecting them securely to enterprise systems, data sources, and governed workflows. Today, this work is increasing faster than the current engineering capacity can sustainably support. This role adds the dedicated engineering depth needed to scale the platform safely, consistently, and with reusable patterns.
Program Context A Dedicated Program, Already in Motion :
With Copilot now licensed organization-wide and demand increasing across teams, rollout, governance, and automation have become an active enterprise program. This is not a greenfield experiment. The engineer will join a program with defined priorities, existing delivery work, and growing demand across adoption, governance, integrations, and analytics :
- Copilot rollout & adoption : 250+ associates enabled in 2024, scaling organization-wide including discoverability, knowledge base development, quick-starts, adoption tracking, and "Copilot insiders."
- Copilot governance : Agents Governance & Admin Plan (Copilot Studio Extensibility COE); Copilot Studio (security, monitoring, ALM); license-intake with ROI capture; steering committees; Frontier / Agent 365.
- Automation and integration : 400+ hours/month/team saved through multi-level approval flows, helpdesk automation, Azure Graph API meeting scheduling/transcripts, and Power Platform DLP automation covering 2,500+ app permissions.
- AI & analytics : AI Builder POC (transcript ? evidence ? rubric scoring), Azure AI Studio use cases, Splunk + Power BI usage analytics (M365 vs Google).
Core Responsibilities :
- Design and build custom Copilot agents, plugins, Microsoft Graph connectors, and reusable integration patterns for enterprise use cases.
- Develop secure integrations with ERP, HRIS, ITSM, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems using APIs and governed data access patterns.
- Embed governance and security into every agent and integration by design, not bolt-on.
- Own platform engineering patterns including reusable components, service documentation, deployment standards, and support handover models.
- Partner with governance, security, and business teams to convert demand into secure, scalable, supportable AI and automation solutions.
- Maintain CI/CD, testing, monitoring, logging, and code standards so platform services are reliable, observable, and ready for enterprise support.
Governance Guardrails (Built Into Every Build) :
- Enforce DLP (data-loss prevention) on agents.
- Apply role-based access and least-privilege principles.
- Gate the agent lifecycle with approval and review.
- Maintain audit logging and compliance reporting.
