Vice President of Underwriting

About the Company

As a VP for Underwriting, you will spearhead the end-to-end delivery of complex P&C insurance operations, acting as the primary bridge between global stakeholders and high-performing delivery teams. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring strict adherence to underwriting guidelines, and optimizing process efficiencies to enhance profitability. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and leveraging data-driven insights, you will ensure that our underwriting services consistently meet rigorous quality standards and turnaround times, directly impacting client satisfaction and the overall growth trajectory of our insurance business in the Gurgaon market.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Orchestrate large-scale underwriting operations to ensure seamless service delivery that aligns with global P&C insurance standards and client expectations.
• Lead and mentor diverse teams of underwriting professionals, fostering a high-performance environment that prioritizes accuracy, compliance, and professional development.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional leadership to define strategic delivery roadmaps, ensuring that operational outputs support long-term business objectives.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives by integrating automation and advanced analytics into existing workflows to reduce operational costs and improve process velocity.

Qualifications

• A postgraduate degree or professional certification in Insurance or Management is highly preferred, reflecting a strong foundation in industry best practices.
• Must possess 16 - 25 years of relevant experience in the insurance domain, with a significant portion spent in leadership roles overseeing underwriting delivery.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale P&C insurance operations, with a deep understanding of the underwriting lifecycle, risk assessment methodologies, and policy administration.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire large, multi-layered teams, with a focus on talent retention, performance management, and building a culture of accountability.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex organizational structures and influencing senior leadership to drive strategic change.
• Strong analytical acumen, with the ability to interpret operational metrics and financial data to make informed decisions that improve service delivery outcomes.
