Job description

We're looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team and play a key role in modernizing a large-scale .NET Framework application while providing support and adding new capabilities on different in-house products, in domains as broad as integration architecture, user provisioning, data reporting, applicant tracking system and financial Backoffice processes within a mature Azure infrastructure.

We are actively embedding AI into how we build software — not just what we build. Engineers are expected to leverage AI coding assistants daily, contribute to prompt libraries and agentic workflows, and help the team continuously raise the bar on AI-augmented delivery.

You will work closely with our international DevOps team and you will initially 'decompose' our business critical Applicant Tracking System /Professional Service Automation system into modular, maintainable components while also modernizing legacy parts.

This is a hands-on role that requires both strong technical depth and the confidence to challenge architectural decisions constructively.

In this role, based out of India, you will have the flexibility to work from home while meeting with RGP colleagues from time to time valuing this interaction yourself, peers and management located primary in the Netherlands, India and in the US. As such, you must be open to accommodate your working hours mostly to the European time (CET).

You will work with and for professionals in a dynamic, international and inspiring environment where we value teamwork, initiative, quality, knowledge sharing and people development.

Within an agile methodology, you will contribute to the support and continuous improvements of different products being exposed to .NET, C#, ASP.NET, Azure service bus, Web apps, Web API, SQL, Azure DevOps/Git while being involved into our AI journey.

RGP is committed to further invest in internal development to best meet its requirements, providing you with an opportunity to further enhance your knowledge (i.e Certifications, Seminars, Pluralsight, Peer programming).

What you will work on

  • Modernizing legacy systems
  • Analysis and decomposition of legacy systems
  • Provide support while working further on enhancements and transition to Azure
  • Help translating business requirements into business applications as you are acquiring more domain knowledge
  • Contribution in all steps of the development lifecycles
  • Customer care and technical support through effective communication and execution

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor/Master degree in computer sciences
  • 8+ years' experience as .NET software engineer and at good level of exposure in development with C# and .NET, integration architecture, Azure infrastructure, AI-assisted development tools and agentic AI approaches
  • Solid understanding of software architecture patterns — monolith decomposition, modular monolith or microservices trade-offs
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services including Azure Front Door, Application Gateway, Managed Identity, Key Vault, Azure Monitor/App Insights, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Bicep or ARM templates).
  • Strong SQL Server skills — you should be comfortable writing and reasoning about complex queries, not just using an ORM
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems — you've dealt with real-world migration challenges, not just greenfield projects
  • Active daily use of AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) for code generation, refactoring, test writing, and code review
  • Familiarity with the broader Microsoft ecosystem (Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, etc.)
  • Analytical mindset — you dig into root causes, question assumptions, and bring clarity to ambiguous problems
  • Willingness to challenge decisions respectfully — we value engineers who push back with reasoning, not just agree
  • Business level English skills, written and verbal

Web Api, Git, .NET, Web Apps, Sql, Azure, Azure Devops, Asp.net, ARM Templates
