Orange - Subject Matter Expert/Consultant - Data Center Networking

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced SME Consultant - Data Center Networking with deep expertise in Cisco and Arista technologies to design, implement, and optimize modern data center networking solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with EVPN-VXLAN fabrics, Spine-Leaf architectures, Cisco Nexus platforms, Arista EOS, and data center transformation initiatives.

This role involves architecture design, customer engagement, deployment leadership, migration execution, and technical consulting across enterprise-scale data center environments.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Data Center Architecture & Design :

- Design scalable, resilient, and highly available data center network architectures.

- Create High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.

- Design Spine-Leaf architectures using EVPN-VXLAN fabrics.

- Define underlay and overlay routing strategies.

- Architect solutions for :

1. Enterprise Data Centers

2. Private Cloud

3. Hybrid Cloud

4. Colocation Environments

5. Disaster Recovery Sites

- Conduct architecture reviews, workshops, and customer discovery sessions.

2. Deployment & Implementation :

- Deploy and configure Cisco Nexus and Arista switching platforms.

- Implement :

1. EVPN-VXLAN Fabrics

2. Spine-Leaf Topologies

3. MP-BGP EVPN

4. VRFs

5. Segmentation

6. vPC / MLAG

7. Data Center Interconnect (DCI)

8. High Availability Architectures

- Execute greenfield and brownfield deployments.

- Lead migration from traditional 3-tier architectures to modern data center fabrics.

- Perform testing, UAT, ATP, and operational handover activities.

3. Project Delivery & Transformation :

- Lead end-to-end project execution and deployment activities.

- Drive transition, transformation, migration, and expansion initiatives.

- Support customer migrations from legacy networking environments.

- Provide technical recommendations and optimization opportunities.

- Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for support teams.

4. Operations & Support :

- Provide escalation support for complex networking issues.

- Conduct root cause analysis and performance optimization.

- Build lab environments, demos, and proof-of-concept setups.

- Stay updated with emerging data center technologies and networking trends.

Required Skills :

1. Cisco Data Center Technologies :

- Cisco Nexus 5000 / 7000 / 9000 Series, Cisco NX-OS, Cisco ACI, Cisco NDFC (DCNM), Nexus Dashboard, FabricPath, vPC, VXLAN EVPN.

2. Arista Technologies :

- Arista EOS, Arista Spine-Leaf Architectures, CloudVision Portal (CVP), MLAG, VXLAN EVPN, EOS Automation, Arista Validated Designs.

3. Routing & Switching :

- Strong expertise in : BGP / MP-BGP EVPN, OSPF, IS-IS, VXLAN Overlays, VRF-Lite, ECMP, QoS, Multicast, STP / RSTP / MST, First-Hop Redundancy Protocols.

4. Data Center Interconnect :

- Experience with : EVPN Multi-Site, VXLAN DCI, OTV, MPLS Integration, Layer 2 / Layer 3 DCI, DR & Failover Architectures.

5. Virtualization & Cloud :

- VMware vSphere / vDS, NSX Concepts, Kubernetes / OpenShift Networking, Bare-Metal Server Connectivity, AWS, Azure, GCP, Hybrid Cloud Networking.

6. Automation & DevOps :

- Python, Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, Git, Jenkins, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), NetDevOps Methodologies.

7. Monitoring & Operations :

- Telemetry, Streaming Analytics, SNMP, Syslog Monitoring, Packet Analysis, Observability Platforms.

Certifications Preferred :

- CCIE Data Center, Arista ACE Certifications, ITIL Certification, Additional Data Center or Networking Certifications.

Education :

- B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunications, or Related Engineering Discipline.

Preferred Candidate Profile :

- 8-10 years of networking experience.

- Minimum 5 years in enterprise data center networking.

- Experience in customer-facing environments, SI, Telecom, or Managed Services organizations.

- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to lead deployments, migrations, and transformation programs.

- Highly customer-focused and self-driven professional.
