Manual Tester

Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test data.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and end-to-end testing of web and mobile applications.
• Execute test cases, document test results, and ensure complete test coverage for assigned features.
• Identify, log, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve product quality.
• Conduct regression testing following bug fixes, enhancements, and new releases.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Validate application functionality across multiple browsers, devices, and environments.
• Prepare and maintain testing documentation, including test reports, defect reports, and release validation reports.
• Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and production release verification.
• Contribute to process improvements and quality assurance best practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends, testing methodologies, and emerging QA tools and technologies.
  
  

Requirements

• 1-4 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience in functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software products.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing SaaS, web-based, or mobile applications.
• Basic understanding of API testing tools such as Postman.
• Exposure to automation testing concepts and tools is a plus.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is an added advantage.
