Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies for minimizing tax liabilities in line with business objectives.
  • Evaluate current tax structures and suggest optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess business implications.

2. Direct Taxation (Income Tax)

  • Manage corporate tax planning, tax computations, and tax provisioning for all Group companies.
  • Review and file Income Tax returns and related schedules.
  • Handle tax assessments, scrutiny, and appeals.
  • Manage Transfer Pricing documentation and review cross-border transactions.

    • 3. Indirect Taxation (GST & Other Applicable Levies)

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of GST returns across locations.
  • Manage GST reconciliations, audits, refunds, and litigation.
  • Advise business units on GST implications for operations & transactions.
  • Ensure proper classification, valuation, and applicability of GST rates.

    • 4. Compliance & Governance

  • Establish strong tax governance frameworks across the Group.
  • Conduct internal tax compliance reviews and risk assessments.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure readiness for statutory audits.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, consultants, and legal teams.

    • 5. Transactions, Structuring & Advisory

  • Evaluate tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, contracts, and new business ventures.
  • Guide cross-border transactions and compliance under FEMA & international taxation norms.
  • Support business teams during negotiations from a tax perspective.

    • 6. Coordination & Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and guide the taxation team at corporate and plant levels.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Sales, and External Consultants.
  • Provide regular MIS and tax impact analysis to senior management.
