About the Role

At Datavalley, we are hiring a Lead Technical Mentor for our Full Stack track - someone who has built and shipped real applications using Java/Spring Boot and the MERN stack and can now mentor freshers to do the same.

This is not a classroom lecturing role. You will run the cohort like a real engineering team - daily standups, code reviews, sprint planning on JIRA, Git discipline and end-to-end project delivery. Your success is measured by placement outcomes, not syllabus completion.

What You Will Do

• Lead technical training and mentor candidates throughout the intensive program.
• Deliver hands-on training across the Java Full Stack (Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Microservices) and MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) & Nextjs
• Guide students through real-world project delivery: e-commerce platforms, task management systems, REST APIs, chat applications, admin dashboards.
• Conduct daily code reviews - teach clean code, SOLID principles, proper error handling and why naming matters.
• Enforce Git hygiene, documentation standards and README-driven development. Every student graduates with a GitHub portfolio of 3+ documented projects.
• Run the cohort like a real dev team: daily standups, sprint planning, JIRA tickets, retrospectives.
• Discuss the fundamentals of system design and high-level design (HLD).
• Teach deployment fundamentals - students must understand how code moves from localhost to a live server.
• Collaborate with the placement team and Career Readiness Coach to ensure students crack technical interviews.

Must Have

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience with production deployments.
• Strong Java backend: Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs.
• Microservices architecture: you have designed, built or maintained microservices in production.
• MERN stack proficiency: MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js - must have built at least one production application.
• Frontend depth: React (hooks, state management, routing), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
• Database skills: MySQL/PostgreSQL (relational) + MongoDB (NoSQL). Writing efficient queries, schema design, indexing.
• Git mastery: branching strategies, pull requests, merge conflict resolution, code review workflows.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Docker basics and deployment to cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure - any one).
• Ability to teach System Design / High-Level Design for interview preparation.
• At least one end-to-end application built and deployed to production (not just tutorials or personal projects).

Good to Have

• TypeScript experience.
• Redux / Context API / Zustand for state management.
• Testing: JUnit, Jest, React Testing Library.
• DevOps basics: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker Compose, Kubernetes awareness.
• Cloud deployment: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or GCP or Azure.
• Message queues: Kafka, RabbitMQ - awareness level.
• Prior training, mentoring or tech lead experience (formal or informal).
• DSA / competitive programming background - helpful for interview prep coaching.
