Urban Company started out as UrbanClap in Nov 2014, when its founders, Abhiraj, Raghav and Varun realized that the home services industry was predominantly unorganized, fragmented and offline. Customers found it difficult to avail quality services in a convenient manner, and service professionals were struggling to make ends meet, having to rely upon several middlemen, contractors, and local aggregators. The founders felt that the industry was ripe for disruption, and launched Urban Company, with three key principles in mind:

About the role

We're looking for an AI graphic designer who lives at the intersection of design, social media and generative tools. This is not a 'take brief, wait for feedback, make rounds' role. We want someone who will set their own bar, move fast, and use AI + design craft to ship distinctive work across categories and platforms.

What You'll own

1. Concept to output: Take rough briefs/prompts/business problems and turn them into sharp, on-brand images & visual ideas using both GenAI tools and traditional design tools.
2. Multi-category assets: Design always-on assets across different categories & objectives (performance marketing, brand, CRM, app, social,etc.).
3. Platform-native creativity: Adapt ideas/visuals intelligently for Instagram, YouTube, CRM, OOH, app etc., knowing when to stay strict on brand guidelines and when to bend them to fit the medium.
4. Brand stewardship: Guard the sanctity of brand guidelines, while pushing the edges in a thoughtful, strategic way.
5. GenAI exploration: Use tools like Midjourney, Gemini, ChatGPT, Runway, etc. to generate concepts, imagery across categories and final static + short form video assets.
6. Systems & libraries: Help build and maintain a high-quality library of prompts, templates and brand assets that make the whole team faster and sharper.
7. Self-driven projects: Identify visual/creative opportunities teams are not asking for yet and lead them end to end.

Must Haves

• Great taste: A sharp eye for typography, layout, colour, visual hierarchy and composition.
• Bar-raiser mindset. You're not here to 'service requests'; you're here to elevate how the brand looks and feels.
• GenAI fluency: Hands-on experience and portfolio with Midjourney/Gemini/RunwayML (or similar) as part of your creative process, not just for fun, but for shippable work.
• Strong skills in Figma + Adobe Suite (Photoshop / Illustrator / After Effects or similar).
• Ability to interpret business and marketing context: you may not know all the numbers, but you understand what a creative is supposed to do (clicks, recall, trust,etc.).
• A portfolio showing distinctive, well-crafted work (links required).
• High ownership & agency: 0 follow-ups needed to move work forward; you close loops yourself.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working brand-side for a D2C or consumer tech brand, not just agency.
• Demonstrable high-quality work created with GenAI tools (before/after, prompts, process is a plus).
• Comfort working with motion (simple animations, social videos).
• Experience collaborating with performance marketing and brand teams
• Experience streamlining creative workflows with automation/AI for speed

• You're comfortable with creative risk: exploring new routes, not just safe, expected ones, while still staying true to the brand.
• You don't need to be 'managed', you manage the work.
• You take a brief, ask sharp questions (if needed).
• You have a strong opinion on what 'good' looks like and the craft to back it.
