About the role :

The Remedial Counselor's primary role is to provide counseling, therapy, and / or psychotherapy to students and families as appropriate and prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs.

What You Will Be Doing

• Help students to overcome learning disabilities.
• Focus on assisting individuals who suffer from conditions that interfere with learning, and those with language and reasoning disabilities.
• Helps students improve their focus and work habits
• Work on basic concepts like logical categorization and analytical skills
• Build skills and strategies which help students manage learning or attention issues and improve schoolwork
• Improve attention skills and phonetics awareness
• Help with the students' academic skills, social communication, and boost self-confidence
• Teach time management and organizational skills
• Provide a safe environment for discussing school and to learn how to self-advocate
• Act as a link between home and school
