Position Overview
We’re seeking a skilled professional to lead Service Certification for the Power & Cooling (PaC) systems supporting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. In this role, you’ll ensure that cooling and power systems in data centers are installed, tested, and certified to meet rigorous operational standards and performance targets. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and facilities teams to deliver certified, reliable, and efficient PaC solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement comprehensive service certification programs for power and cooling systems, including validation through testing and documentation.
- Define and enforce certification standards, protocols, and guidelines tailored to GCP data center environments.
- Collaborate with data center engineering teams to design, analyze, and audit cooling solutions—such as liquid cooling, CRAC / CDU systems, and chip-to-chiller architectures.
- Conduct thermal and hydraulic analysis to validate cooling designs, optimize performance, and address certification gaps.
- Create and maintain certification documentation including test plans, reports, and compliance logs.
- Identify and resolve technical issues or non-conformities promptly, ensuring corrective actions and validation of remediation.
- Facilitate readiness validation for new and upgraded infrastructure systems, ensuring systems achieve operational certification before deployment.
- Lead presentations of certification status, risks, and executive summaries to technical leadership.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
5+ years of experience in infrastructure operations, data center certification, or facility engineering focused on HVAC, cooling, or power systems.Hands-on experience in testing, validating, and certifying PaC systems within mission-critical environments.Strong technical knowledge of cooling technologies (e.g., evaporative, liquid, chip-to-chiller) and thermal / hydraulic analysis methods.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Proven track record in project coordination, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in designing thermal systems using CFD modeling, FEA, or flow network tools such as AFT FathomAcademic credentials in Mechanical, Industrial, or Facility Engineering.Experience within cloud-scale data center environments or knowledge of GCP infrastructure.Familiarity with certification frameworks and compliance standards relevant to data centers (e.g., ISO, safety, etc.).Program or project management experience, particularly in certification activities.
