Deputy News Editor - Hindi (Nai Dunia)

Role Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced newsroom leader to join Nai Dunia as Deputy News Editor. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day editorial operations, ensuring the delivery of accurate, impactful, and engaging news content across multiple platforms. This role is central to maintaining the highest journalistic standards while driving innovation in content presentation and audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the newsroom team in Noida, coordinating with input desks, sub-editors, and digital teams.

2. Ensure factually accurate, timely, and high-quality news content across diverse sections including MP, Chhattisgarh, National, Spiritual, Lifestyle, and digital-first formats.

3. Exercise strong editorial judgement in story selection, headline writing, and editing for clarity, accuracy, and readability.

4. Oversee real-time news monitoring and ensure fast, precise handling of breaking stories.

5. Uphold and enforce ethical journalism standards of the Dainik Jagran Group.

6. Collaborate closely with the Editor on strategic planning, workflow optimization, and newsroom innovations.

7. Mentor and guide the editorial team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and creativity.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Postgraduate degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.

- Minimum 12-14 years of newsroom experience, preferably with a strong digital media background.

- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.

- Exceptional command over the Hindi language with sharp news sense and editorial acumen.
