Job Description
Core Objective
Keep the project simple, structured, and accountable. Ensure progress across all workstreams by holding owners to their actions, surfacing risks early, and driving clear, consistent communication. Success means the team can focus on solving problems and building solutions, not chasing updates or managing logistics. If something is late or missed without communication, the Project Manager is not meeting the requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Governance and Delivery Structure
- Design and maintain a clear, lightweight structure for delivery : workstream plans, RAID log, milestone tracking.
- Set and manage a predictable cadence of meetings and reporting.
- Ensure every meeting has a clear agenda, concise notes, and actions tracked to closure. Regularly review governance, meetings, and reports to identify what can be simplified or removed.
- Track progress against KPI’s and project plan.
- Keep documentation light and accessible. Uber uses the Google Suite
Accountability and Action Management
Hold all team members accountable for their deliverables and deadlines.Follow up on open actions and flag slippage early, with proposed recovery steps.Ensure cross-team dependencies are owned and managed, not left ambiguous.Escalate only when escalation is needed, with context and recommendation.Stakeholder CoordinationManage alignment across tax, engineering, and operational teams.Proactively communicate updates, risks, and dependencies.Ensure the right people are in the right meetings and decisions are clearly documented.
