Job Description : CAD Designer
Responsibilities :
- Develop designs and documentation for new and existing products by creating 3D models, drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and other documentation to fully define products for manufacturing while ensuring specifications are met.
- Work on projects with significant scope and complexity, requiring minimal supervision from engineers and supervisors.
- Research specifications and identify purchased components for use in designs.
- Manage both small and select aspects of large-scale projects independently.
- Direct and assist with the construction of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot builds.
- Assist in developing engineering, drafting, and release standards.
- Perform tolerance stack analysis of complex assemblies and drawings before releasing documentation.
- Participate in the product development process, including design brainstorming and customer feedback activities.
- Initiate and prepare Engineering Change Order (ECO) documentation, including the development of BOMs.
- Perform required calculations to ensure dimensions, tolerances, and specifications are accurate as represented.
Requirements :
Ideally, 3–5 years of mechanical drafting or design experience.Proficiency in SolidWorks is mandatory.Strong knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.Experience in mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration design for components and assemblies.Experience with ENOVIA PLM system is a plus.Familiarity with JD Edwards is an asset.Knowledge of brazing and welding techniques for copper and stainless steel is advantageous.Understanding of tubing and manifold designs for fluid systems is a bonus.Knowledge of plastic part design is beneficial.This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative designs and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
