Role Overview :
The Team Lead will manage a team of HCC coders, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and compliance with CMS guidelines. This leadership role involves coaching, mentoring, and operational oversight while maintaining client satisfaction and meeting organizational KPIs.
Key Responsibilities (Expanded) :
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 8-15 HCC coders, ensuring 100% adherence to coding accuracy and SLAs.
- Allocate and monitor workloads, balancing team capacity and productivity.
- Conduct daily and weekly quality checks, identifying trends and implementing corrective measures.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex coding queries, client concerns, and operational challenges.
- Partner with Process Coaches to deliver training programs, refresher courses, and skills development plans.
- Monitor team KPIs including accuracy rate, productivity, turnaround time, and compliance metrics.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to build a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with Quality Team Leads to ensure audits are addressed and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented.
- Provide leadership visibility through detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and client stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving within the team.
Qualifications & Experience :
6-9 years of HCC coding experience, including 1+ year in a Team Lead roleCPC or CRC certification mandatoryStrong understanding of CMS coding guidelines, medical terminology, and risk adjustment principlesSkills & Competencies :
