The Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boat Project Section and the Leased Vessel and Small Hulls Project Section are integral parts of the Civil Maritime Capability Acquisition and Transitions Branch (CMCATB) in the Civil Maritime Capability Division.

The Civil Maritime Capability Acquisition and Transition Branch manages the delivery of the Civil Maritime Capability projects from inception to transition into service.

Both sections consist of various disciplines (including engineering, project and contract management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). Operating in a complex, challenging and changing environment, characterised by a continual high tempo of activity in the delivery of capability to the Australian Border Force (ABF).

Projects often include high risk, high value (HRHV) strategic procurement in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The projects are often time critical and may be subject to change with operational imperatives and Government priorities.

Our ideal candidate

• CEng with Royal Institution of Naval Architects or equivalent.
• Experience as an engineer in maritime projects, with a good understanding of Class Society Requirements.
• Experience in the preparation of inspection and / or audit reports.
• Experience communicating and articulating technical subject matter to non-technical management forums.
• Strong theoretical and practical assessment / analysis skills.
