Mortgage Loan Regulatory Analyst

Role Description

This is a full-time, remote role for a Mortgage Loan Compliance Reviewer located in our Mumbai office, supporting operations in the US mortgage industry. The position focuses on conducting thorough compliance reviews of mortgage loans to ensure adherence to all federal, state, and agency regulations, including those from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and guidelines set by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Responsibilities include performing detailed audits of loan files, identifying potential compliance risks or violations, evaluating processes against regulatory requirements, and recommending corrective actions to mitigate issues. The role also involves collaborating with origination, underwriting, and servicing teams to foster a culture of compliance, preparing reports for internal stakeholders and regulators, and staying abreast of evolving mortgage regulations to support proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in US mortgages, loan origination, and servicing processes
• Strong background in mortgage compliance, including familiarity with federal regulations (e.G., TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA) and agency-specific requirements from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA / VA programs
• Proficiency in financial analysis, risk assessment, and audit methodologies within the mortgage sector
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting findings to senior leadership
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex compliance challenges
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Mortgage Compliance Professional (CMCP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or similar in mortgage lending / compliance are a plus
• 3+ years of experience in mortgage loan review or compliance auditing within a US financial institution
