Head of Total Rewards will be responsible for designing and delivering the organizations compensation, benefits, rewards, and recognition strategies.
This senior leadership role ensures that reward programs are competitive, equitable, performance-driven, and aligned with business strategy.

Key Compensation Strategy & Design Develop and implement compensation frameworks (base pay, variable pay, incentives, long-term benefits) aligned with business priorities.
- Benefits & Well-being Lead benefits strategy covering health, retirement, wellness, and flexible offerings to enhance employee experience.
- Pay Equity & Governance Ensure compliance with local / global labor laws, tax norms, and governance standards; drive pay equity and fairness across levels.
- Performance-Linked Rewards Design and integrate performance-driven pay structures, recognition programs, and retention-linked incentives.
- Market Benchmarking Conduct competitive benchmarking, salary surveys, and external analysis to maintain market competitiveness.
- Job Evaluation & Grading Oversee role evaluation, leveling frameworks, and internal equity reviews to support career architecture and mobility.
- Following a job evaluation, lead the total rewards that aligns compensation, benefits, and overall rewards with broader business objectives.
- The findings from job evaluation serve as the data-driven foundation for this strategic work.
- Executive Compensation Partner with leadership and the Board / Compensation Committee on executive compensation strategy and governance.
- Data & Analytics Leverage analytics and reward dashboards to drive insights and decision-making; monitor reward effectiveness and ROI.
- Policy & Process Excellence Build efficient, transparent reward processes and systems; ensure clarity and employee communication.
- Collaboration Work closely with HRBPs, Finance, and business leaders to ensure reward practices are consistent, sustainable, and impactful.
- Global & Regional Alignment Align local practices with global total rewards philosophy, adapting to market needs while maintaining consistency.
- Team Leadership Lead and develop the Total Rewards team, ensuring strong functional expertise and business partnership.
Key Skills & Requirements
Experience : 15+ years in HR with significant specialization in compensation & benefits / total rewards preferably in a manufacturing setup.Postgraduate degree in HR / Finance / Business Management; certification in compensation / rewards preferred.Deep expertise in compensation strategy, benchmarking, and benefits design.Strong financial and analytical skills with proficiency in reward modeling, data analysis, and cost optimization.Ability to balance competitiveness with affordability and governance.Experience in executive compensation and Board-level interaction desirable.Strong communication skills, with ability to simplify complex reward concepts for diverse audiences.High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.Collaborative mindset with ability to influence senior stakeholders and partner across geographies.Proven track record of leading teams and embedding best practices in reward strategy(ref : iimjobs.com)
