Position Overview : The position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing operations related to helium and specialty gas trans fill processes. This role demands a strong understanding of helium cylinder and liquid dewar fill operations, tube trailers, and the broader gas industry with focus in Helium and Specialty Gases. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing a team, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

1.        Operations Management :

o    Supervise and coordinate daily trans fill operations, ensuring all processes meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards and as required as per local laws.

o    Oversee the filling of helium cylinders and liquid Dewars, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company procedures.

o    Manage the operation and maintenance of tube trailers and related equipment.

o    Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to minimize risks and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

o    Develop and optimize workflows and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

2.        Logistics Coordination :

o    Plan and manage the logistics for the distribution and delivery of helium and specialty gases, including scheduling and route optimization.

o    Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.

o    Monitor inventory levels of gases, cylinders, and related equipment to ensure adequate stock and prevent shortages.

3.        ISO Documentation & Compliance :

o   Maintain and implement ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 documentation and standards.

o   Conduct internal audits and support external audits related to ISO certifications.

o   Ensure adherence to SOPs and continuous improvement in operational processes.

4.        Regulatory & Statutory Compliance :

o   Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, especially PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation) regulations.

o   Coordinate with statutory authorities for licenses, renewals, inspections, and reports.

o   Maintain documentation and safety protocols as per applicable laws and guidelines.

5.        Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) :

o       Enforce strict adherence to safety standards across plant operations.

o       Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions.

o       Conduct regular safety drills and employee training programs.

6.        Team Leadership :

o       Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5 to 7 employees, providing guidance, training, and performance management.

o       Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

o       Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews, setting clear goals and expectations.

7.        Customer Service and Communication :

o       Serve as a point of contact for customers, addressing any issues or concerns related to trans fill operations and logistics.

o       Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

8.        Reporting and Documentation :

o       Maintain accurate records of trans fill activities, inventory levels, and safety inspections.

o       Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, safety incidents, and logistical metrics to senior management.

Qualifications, work experience and skills :

o       Experience : Minimum of 12 years of experience in operations and logistics within the gas industry, with specific experience in helium and specialty gases.

o        Technical Knowledge : Deep understanding of helium cylinder and liquid dewar fill operations, tube trailers, and associated equipment.

o        Leadership Skills : Proven experience in managing and leading a team, with strong skills in employee development and performance management.

o        Safety and Compliance : Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the gas industry, including OSHA standards.

o        Organizational Skills : Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and manage logistics and operations effectively.

o        Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers, team members, and management effectively.

o        Education : A University degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
