Senior UC Engineering Consultant

Responsibilities :

• Work with vendors, clients, carriers, and technical staff on the implementation, optimization, and security of the Cisco Unified Communications system. This includes but is not limited to troubleshooting infrastructure and services including CUCM, CUC, IMP, Jabber, video infrastructure, and all other Unified Communications applications.
• Carry out maintenance / upgrades on all Infrastructure and endpoints.
• Own analysis of new technologies from start to finish.
• Provide support to the Video Infrastructure team lead.
• Carry out security review of infrastructure and applications.
• Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new software, hardware, tools, systems, and processes to provide state-of-the-art collaboration experience.
• Document procedures and processes.
• Develop and maintain user guides, technical guides, project plans, and any other system-related documentation for the respective system.
• Create help files for support teams.
• Offer thoughts and solutions on improving current technology.
• Escalate issues to vendors.
• Provide metrics / reports for conferencing services.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced organization.
• Adhere to the design, programming, and application standards as setup by the company. Including compliance with all firm and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements :

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Unified Communications, VoIP, and Collaboration tools, including Cisco products (Call Manager, Meeting Server, Expressway / VCS, TMS, Meeting Manager, Endpoints, WebEx, Jabber).
• Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, IPTV Streaming / Multicasting
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server environments (2008, 2012, 2016), Citrix VDI environment, MAC OSX, Windows environments (Windows 10), and MobileIron (MDM).
• Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, etc.)
• Knowledge of Networking technologies (Switches, Routers, F5 load balancers, DNS, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, QoS).
• Knowledge of Firewall Traversal, VMware architecture.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Zabbix or other relevant platforms.
• Experience with Azure AD, SSO, and IAM security policies is nice to have.
• CCIE Collaboration is preferred, but CCNP Collaboration is also suitable.
• Experience with Cisco TAC support (raising cases, escalating).
• Basic knowledge of the financial services industry is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain client trust and confidence.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Ability to own issues and work on them until resolution.

Nice to have :

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Programming / Scripting experience (Visual Basic / Python etc).
• Rest API knowledge (POSTMAN experience a plus).
• Documentation and design skills (Visio a plus, including HLD, LLD).
• Application packaging and deployment.
