Role Description
We are seeking a highly organised and process-driven Senior Merchandiser to manage key international buyer accounts and will be responsible for managing day-to-day merchandising activities, including product planning, sourcing, and coordination with suppliers and clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of garment manufacturing, strong communication and coordination skills, and the ability to maintain strict adherence to timelines and internal systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison for international buyers ensuring smooth communication, updates, and alignment on product development, pricing, and delivery.
- Oversee the complete merchandising process from fabric sourcing, design development, sampling, and costing to production and shipment.
- Coordinate effectively with design, sampling, and production teams to maintain workflow discipline and resolve bottlenecks proactively.
- Participate in trade shows and buyer meetings , representing the company’s capabilities and identifying potential business opportunities.
- Strengthen existing buyer relationships and support management in developing new business partnerships.
- Create and monitor T&A calendars , ensuring all milestones (approvals, fittings, PP samples, and production) are achieved within agreed timelines.
- Drive process adherence within the team and introduce improvements to increase efficiency and accountability.
- Review tech packs and coordinate with internal departments for accurate sample execution and bulk approvals.
- Track and monitor production status, ensuring timely dispatches and proactive communication on any delays or changes.
- Provide regular updates to management on order status, shipment schedules, and business performance.
- Mentor junior merchandisers and ensure adherence to processes and timelines within the team.
- Support management in creating reports, sales decks, and presentations for buyer visits and reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
8–10 years of experience in garment merchandising, preferably within an export house catering to UK, EU, or US markets.Strong track record in managing key buyer accounts and delivering orders on time.Exceptional organisational and time-management skills;must be highly process-oriented.
Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination abilities.In-depth understanding of fabrics, trims, costing, and production processes.Proficiency in Excel, ERP, and internal reporting tools.Ability to handle multiple accounts in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with accuracy and attention to detail.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.Candidates based in Gurgaon are highly preferred.
