Job description

Key Responsibilities – Junior Accountant

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting records and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
  • Prepare and record purchase, sales, payment, and receipt entries in the accounting system.
  • Assist in preparing GST data for monthly and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.).
  • Prepare and reconcile GST input and output data and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare TDS working sheets and maintain data required for TDS return filing.
  • Verify TDS deductions as per applicable sections and reconcile TDS records.
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor ledgers, and customer accounts.
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment after verification.
  • Maintain proper accounting documents, vouchers, and statutory records.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Coordinate with the CA, auditors, and internal teams for statutory compliance.
  • Generate MIS reports and provide accounting data as required by management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks assigned by the reporting manager.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of GST, TDS, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Tally Prime, MS Excel, and Microsoft Office.
  • Good understanding of bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
