Mainframe Production Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide Level 2 / 3 production support for mainframe applications and batch processes.
• Monitor and manage batch job execution, including resolution of job failures and delays.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to COBOL programs, JCL scripts, DB2, and VSAM files.
• Utilize tools like File-Aid, Endevor, and OPC (Job Scheduling) for analysis, code management, and job control.
• Perform data fixes, job restarts, and reruns as required.
• Handle incident and change management processes using ITIL / ITSM tools.
• Work in coordination with development and infrastructure teams to resolve problems and deploy fixes.
• Document technical procedures, root cause analysis (RCA), and knowledge base articles.
• Perform impact analysis and validation before and after system changes.
• Engage in on-call support rotation as needed.
