ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the R&D team, should be able to perform the following duties as assigned by Manager / Leads to support the team’s goals but not limited to the following :
o Understanding of system level, hardware design & requirements of the system / product
o Lead the investigation of production and field issues / failures
o Understand the technical issues and drive the root cause analysis.
o Collaborate with engineering and production to provide solutions.
o Work on closures as per commitments
o Own and execute mitigations for components obsolescence / supply chain issues :
o Provide timely solutions to prevent production stop situations
o Identify alternate components based on design requirements & component specification / datasheet comparisons
o Perform evaluation & testing as needed for alternate qualifications
o Perform necessary hands-on testing at circuit level / module level / product level to evaluate the hardware performance for identified HW design changes.
o Work on circuit simulations, schematics entry, BOM management and PCB layout reviews as needed.
o Responsible in design change implementations through ECO
o Own documentation and co-ordinate reviews and approvals required to process the ECO.
o Own and implement new feature developments, compliance testing and country registrations for products in production.
o Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing considering the timeline, capacities and cost impact etc.
o Work efficiently with cross functional and production teams to deliver the assigned task / project with quality within the timelines.
o Production testing – Responsible in fixture and tools development needed for production
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE :
QUALIFICATION :
o BE / Btech / ME / Mtech in Electrical / Electronics / Biomedical engineering or equivalent
o 6 to 8 Years of experience in working with Hardware designs.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCY :
o Strong in fundamentals of Analog and digital electronics
o Familiar with the concepts of Microcontrollers / Microprocessors operation and the hardware requirements for designing circuits using them.
o Understanding of power management systems – DCDC (Buck / Boost) and LDOs
o Knowledge of hardware design for communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, RS232, USB
o Proficient in component selection for circuit design
o Experience in using common lab equipment like DMMs, Oscilloscopes, power supplies, Signal generators
o Understanding of production process of PCB assembly & production testing

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
o Circuit simulation experience (LT spice or equivalent)
o Familiar or exposure in EMI / EMC testing
o Understanding of Production, Regulatory and Standards
o Project Management - planning and effort estimation experience will be an added advantage.
