About the Role
We’re looking for a versatile 2D Character Animator & Rigger who can bring characters to life through expressive animation and precise rig setups. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for motion, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality work with quick turnaround times. You’ll collaborate closely with our creative team to ensure characters move fluidly and consistently with the project’s visual style.
Responsibilities
- Design and build 2D character rigs (cut-out or bone-based) suitable for smooth animation.
- Create high-quality character animations that capture personality, expression, and believable motion.
- Execute minute detailing work, including facial expressions, secondary actions, and motion refinements.
- Collaborate with the art and production teams to ensure rigs meet animation and storytelling requirements.
- Maintain consistency of style across all animated sequences.
- Manage tight timelines and deliver polished output with quick turnarounds.
- Incorporate feedback efficiently and iterate on animations or rigs as needed.
Requirements
Proven experience as a 2D Character Animator with strong rigging skills.Solid understanding of animation principles (timing, weight, anticipation, squash and stretch, etc.).Proficiency in software such as Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, After Effects, or similar.Ability to create and manage character rigs, layer hierarchies, and deformation systems.Strong eye for motion detailing, anatomy, and emotional expression.Excellent time management and adaptability in fast-paced project environments.Good to Have
Experience with lip-sync animation and dialogue-driven scenes.Familiarity with character design adjustments for rig optimization.Creative problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
