We are seeking a skilled Heating and Air Conditioning Engineer (HVAC Engineer) to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC systems for commercial or residential buildings. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations. Your work will help optimize comfort, air quality, and energy efficiency across a variety of projects.
- Design and specify HVAC systems for new construction, retrofits, and renovations, ensuring they meet client requirements and building codes.
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and heat transfer analysis to determine the best HVAC solutions.
- Select HVAC equipment (e.g., boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps) based on system requirements, energy efficiency, and budget constraints.
- Develop system layouts, ductwork designs, and piping systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring all components are installed according to design specifications, manufacturer instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Supervise contractors and installers during the commissioning of HVAC systems to ensure quality control.
- Test HVAC systems after installation, calibrating equipment, and performing functional checks to ensure systems are operating correctly and efficiently.
- Provide ongoing maintenance services to ensure HVAC systems run efficiently and remain in optimal working condition.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, such as airflow problems, temperature regulation, or equipment failures.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs on HVAC systems.
- Replace or repair faulty components (e.g., compressors, coils, fans) and update system controls as needed.
- Analyze and recommend energy-efficient solutions to optimize heating and cooling systems, reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
- Implement strategies for improving system efficiency, such as upgrading controls, using variable speed drives, or incorporating renewable energy sources like solar or geothermal.
- Stay up-to-date with energy-efficient technologies and environmental regulations, ensuring HVAC systems meet or exceed sustainability goals and building certifications (e.g., LEED).
- Ensure HVAC systems comply with local and national building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards (e.g., ASHRAE, EPA, OSHA).
- Monitor and ensure that refrigerants are handled properly in accordance with regulations like the Clean Air Act.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments on HVAC installations to prevent accidents and ensure safe working conditions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of HVAC designs, installation procedures, maintenance records, and service reports.
