PHP Developer(Legacy App Migration)

Job description37 years of hands-on PHP development experience. Strong knowledge of core PHP and experience dealing with legacy PHP codebases. Proficiency in at least one modern PHP framework such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter. Solid understanding of relational databases, especially MySQL. Familiarity with MVC architecture, REST APIs, and version control systems like Git. Good problem-solving and debugging skills. Prior experience in legacy application modernization projects. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI / CD practices. Exposure to containerization tools like Docker. Basic understanding of front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Experience in microservices design or service-oriented architectures. Knowledge of secure coding and performance optimization techniques.
Job Summary
We are seeking skilled PHP Developers to join our team for a critical legacy application migration project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with legacy PHP codebases and a passion for modernizing applications using up-to-date frameworks and best practices. You will play a key role in re-engineering our application stack for improved performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand the structure and business logic of the legacy PHP application.
- Work on migrating and refactoring legacy modules to modern PHP frameworks.
- Ensure that the migrated application retains feature parity and performance.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and QA teams to define migration strategies.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to modern standards.
- Troubleshoot issues arising during the migration process.
- Support testing, deployment, and post-migration stabilization.
