Yes to Access Yes to Access is a flagship accessibility and inclusion campaign by APD that mobilizes youth and communities to conduct participatory audits of public and private spaces through a dedicated digital platform. The initiative fosters awareness, generates accessibility data, and advocates for inclusive infrastructure using a citizen-led approach.
Role Summary :
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for strategising and managing the lifecycle of YTA volunteers, including recruitment, onboarding, training, field support, and ongoing engagement. The role requires a proactive and organized individual with prior experience in volunteer and campaign management, youth engagement, and grassroots mobilization across a variety of stakeholders. The coordinator will ensure smooth operations across audit drives, maintain volunteer morale, and help amplify the movement for accessibility.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer engagement strategy in alignment with YTA's and APD's goals.
- Plan and execute recruitment drives targeting a variety of stakeholders like students, citizen groups, corporates, and others.
- Design and deliver onboarding and orientation sessions to familiarize volunteers with the YTA app and audit process.
- Organize regular training sessions on accessibility concepts and field audit methodologies.
- Coordinate logistics for accessibility audit drives, including volunteer deployment and field support.
- Maintain consistent communication with volunteers through updates, group engagement activities, and recognition efforts.
- Monitor volunteer performance and morale, ensuring ongoing motivation and meaningful participation.
- Establish partnerships with educational institutions and youth networks to strengthen volunteer pipelines.
- Maintain accurate databases of volunteers, attendance, training completion, and feedback.
- Contribute to impact reporting and documentation of volunteer contributions for internal and external audiences.
- Troubleshoot field-level challenges and provide timely support to ensure smooth execution of audit activities.
- Promote leadership development among volunteers and identify opportunities for long-term engagement.
Required Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Public Policy, or related field2–4 years of experience in volunteer or campaign coordination, preferably in youth or community-focused initiativesStrong organizational and planning skills, with attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in English and local languagesPrior experience working with diverse stakeholders, including students, NGOs, and local bodiesAbility to work independently and as part of a fast-paced teamPassion for disability inclusion, accessibility, and social change Desirable :Familiarity with accessibility-related issues or digital inclusionExperience using volunteer management tools or CRM systemsWillingness to travel for field drives across different cities / statesEmail your CVs to [HIDDEN TEXT]
