Computational Mechanics Engineer

Designation : “ Simulation Engineer – Fluids”

Job Description :

Function as a solution specialist in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics using simulation tools such as ANSYS FLUENT

Have an effective communication, align with the project requirement

Prepare the plan for simulation activities and align the simulation strategy with the requester

Should be able to prepare the simplified CAD models required

Define the mesh attributes and assign the required boundary conditions

Perform the CFD simulations, analyze the results, prepare proper report with appropriate conclusions and suggestions to improve the products performance

Engaging with problem background research, hand calculations and co-ordinate with expert team members to close knowledge gaps to effectively complete projects.

Provide technical assistance to sales team through paid benchmark problems

Responsible for timely and qualitative deliverable of the project.

Develop and strengthen long-term relationships with customers.

Guide in-house efforts in expanding customer accounts.

Mandatory Skill Set :

Knowledge of gas dynamics and shock interactions - mandatory

Knowledge of external aerodynamics - mandatory

Ideally with an aerospace background

Aerospace background with combustion knowledge.

Basic knowledge of matlab for post-processing

Fluent dynamic and overset meshing

Preferred Skill Set :

Knowledge on Fluent 6DOF UDF's

Knowledge on best practices for External Aerodynamics applications

Pressure based and density based sovler's applicability along with pros & cons.

Low subsonic to hyper-sonic flows.

Adaptive meshing

Job submission on cluster (Pbs scripts) & RSM

TUI journal utilization for automation of work

Parameterization through spaceclaim and fluent for simultaneous design point runs.

Desired Candidate Profile :

2-5 Years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or other Mechanical related technical disciplines

Sound background in Gas Dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer & computational fluid dynamics

Experience with ANSYS FLUENT or other commercial CFD software to solve read-world engineering problems

Engaging personality, engineering curiosity and willingness for continuous learning

Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills
